Rugby Union 

Secondary School Girl’s & Boys rugby is administered by the Canterbury Rugby Football Union (CRFU) on behalf of School Sport Canterbury.

Boys rugby is played on Saturdays and Girls rugby is played on Wednesdays.

T1 Rugby - Secondary Schools Opportunity 

T1 Rugby is a non-contact verison of rugby which has been designed to retain the core elements of traditional rugby, such as scrums, lineouts & kicking, whilst being easy and fun to play. 

In 2025, Canterbury Rugby are aiming to roll out T1 Rugby with a focus on engaging with rangatahi in Years 9-10.
