Disability Sports

School Sport Canterbury provides a number of sporting opportunities for students’ with disabilities.

Disability Play Partnership

This exciting programme is being offered to bring together young people that might otherwise miss out. It has been designed through a collaboration between School Sport Canterbury, the Halberg Foundation, and four keen providers – Bowls Canterbury, Canterbury Cricket, Mainland Football and the Papanui Petanque Club.

Canterbury Secondary Schools Championship Events 2025

Term 1

  • Athletic Championships – 18th & 21st March, Nga Puna Wai

  • Swimming Championships –  2nd April, Jellie Park Pool 

Term 2

  • Road Race championships – 13th May, North Hagley

  • Cross Country Championships – 29th May, Ascot Park 

Term 3

  • Boccia Championships – 12th August, TBC
