Empowering the Next Generation of Coaches: Student Coaching Workshop with Sport Canterbury

School Sport Canterbury, Regional Sport Organisations and Sport Canterbury are excited to partner to deliver opportunities for secondary school winter sport student coaches to participate in the 2025 Canterbury Student Coach Development Day. The aim of this program is to enhance the leadership and coaching capabilities of student coaches, boost their confidence, and establish support systems for them within their school sport environments. Development opportunities will be led by experienced Coach Developers, including sport specific Coach Developers.

Purpose

Develop the leadership and coaching capabilities of student coaches, boost their confidence, and establish support systems for them within their school sport environments.

Objectives

  1. Develop students’ leadership capabilities & confidence.
  2. Increase students’ knowledge of quality how to coach approaches.
  3. Improve students’ knowledge of what sport concepts to coach.
  4. Connect student coaches to future support opportunities & resource.

Delivery Details

The one-day practical coaching workshop will be held in Christchurch. Details and a run sheet below:
