SSC Champions Badge Awards

School Sport Canterbury Champions Badges are awarded at the culmination of the Summer and Winter secondary school sport programme with the purpose of recognising excellence and promoting the educational benefits of participation in quality sports programmes.

These awards are independent of any commercial sponsorship and are awarded in sports which are played at a significant level in Canterbury schools, and which are recognised secondary school sports at the national level.

Zonta Awards

For 33 years, the Zonta Club of Christchurch South, New Zealand, has held its Zonta Sports Award to celebrate the local high school athletes' achievements.

Every October, hundreds of young sportswomen and sportsmen hope to be recognised for their sporting efforts over the past 12 months at the club's prestigious event, which is proudly supported by School Sport Canterbury.

Nominations for the 2025 Zonta Sports Awards will open during August and close at 11.59pm on Friday 19 September 2025. Please refer to the Awards Criteria for further information to assist in submitting a nomination.  Please note that nominations will only be accepted from School Sport Canterbury partner schools, and must come directly from the school with the principals approval.
