Bill Grogan
Regional Sports Director

Bill took over the key role of regional sports director from Kerry Henderson at the start of the 2005. This ended a distinguished career in teaching, which included along stint at Burnside High School as Head of the Physical Education department and most recently at Hillmorton High School where he was deputy principal. He enjoys sport, and plays cricket and golf in his spare time.

Angelina King
Assistant Regional Sports Director

Angelina graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Marketing management from Otago University and a post-graduate diploma in event management.  Angelina brings extensive event management experience from the local government sector where she was involved in areas of events, marketing, promotions and finance with the Christchurch City Council.  After venturing overseas to work and explore the world while based in Scotland and Canada before returning home to New Zealand.  In recent years she has been an internship provider/mentor in the post graduate diploma in event management course at CPIT.  Born and bred in Ashburton, for as long as Angelina can remember sport has been an important part of her life and she continues to be live and breathe sport.  She thrives on seeing students pulling on their school colours and represent their school and believes in all students having the opportunity to play every sport possible during their years at secondary school.  In her spare time Angelina can be found on the basketball court or touch rugby field, and also plays golf; tennis and mountain bikes and loves to travel and explore the cultures of the world.  Angelina is a Executive committee member of the Canterbury branch of the NZ Chinese Association [NZCA] and volunteers on the Easter sports tournament organising committee.

Deb Bowry
Assistant to Regional Sports Director

Working in the sports industry, Deb has varied from Beach Education Manager for Surf Life Saving Canterbury, to working in the sports office at Burnside HS.

Water Polo and Surf Life Saving was always Deb’s passion, representing NZ at Water Polo between 1979-1985 but also enjoyed playing soccer and touch. Skiing has been added to the list of interests, another added interest is stand up paddle boarding, a necessity for living across the road from the beach in New Brighton. Also, enjoy reading and walking on the beach with the families two Schnauzers.
